Richard C. Erickson, O.D. is a Staff Optometrist at D'Ambrosio Eye Care. Dr Erickson earned a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University followed by Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Massachusetts. In 2002, the then Acting Governor, Jane Swift, appointed Dr. Erickson to the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Optometry for Health Care Professionals on which he served through 2011 overseeing recertification and licensing. In addition, Dr. Erickson was selected to be senior clinical examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in 2004. He continues to serve on the N. B. E. O. and is a reviewer for the Council on Optometric Professional Education (COPE). Dr. Erickson has over 30 years of specialized contact lens experience in the hard to fit and bifocal lens patient as well as care of the pre-op and post-op LASIK patient. Along with his interest in refractive surgery and laser vision correction, Dr. Erickson has been involved in studies concerning the treatment of dry eye, glaucoma medications and monitoring new surgical technologies.
Dr. Erickson is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists.
At D'Ambrosio Eye Care, Dr. Erickson sees patients of all ages for routine eye exams for eyeglasses and contact lenses, evaluation and management of chronic and acute eye diseases, including dry eye, eye allergies, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma, and fitting of routine and specialty contact lenses and is happy to provide consultation and information about LASIK.
